Emira has dropped her first ever release – a four track R&B inspired pop EP on 2^nd August. The album artwork displays a shiny picture of Emira, with a dark blue sky, seemingly taking a lot of inspiration from the aesthetic of Kali Uchi’s album cover. ‘Hold On’, the second song on the EP, features clean, polished 80’s style production with a soft modern beat and a few synthetic handclaps, along with some throbbing sub bass. Tonnes of reverb and delay are smothered over the low-pitched, thick female vocal as the heart-felt lyrics conjure imagery of coming on in an Uber late a night and having a good sing along to its addictive hook: "it doesn’t have to be like this, we could take time with it…hold on hold on hold on to me". -Ellie Rose Davies
